Beaufort County will host a Public Meeting on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 5-7 pm at the Lady’s Island Middle School Gymnasium, 30 Cougar Drive, Lady’s Island, SC for the US 21 Widening project. Staff will present the designs for the proposed widening of eastbound 21 near Walmart to create four travel lanes through the US 21/Airport Frontage Road intersection. The meeting will be conducted as an informal, drop-in format.

Beaufort County will host a Public Meeting on Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 6-8 pm at Lowcountry Montessori School, 749 Broad River Dr, Beaufort, SC for Broad River Drive Sidewalk Project. An update for all projects within the Shell Point Community will be provided at 6 pm with the sidewalk project public meeting following. The sidewalk public meeting will be conducted as an informal, drop-in format. Staff will present the designs for the proposed 6′ sidewalk from Shell Point Road to the Lowcountry Montessori School.

Beaufort County Councilmember Mark Lawson hosted a Public Meeting on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Bluffton Recreation Center for Alljoy Road Pathway, one of the 24 locations as approved in the 2018 One Cent Sales Tax Referendum. Councilmember Mark Lawson and other representatives presented the summary for the Alljoy Road Pathway Virtual Public Meeting.

The Alljoy Road Pathway is a proposed 8’ pathway along the entire corridor. The pathway improves pedestrian and bicyclist safety by providing a separate facility from the roadway.  Conceptual exhibits and other project information are still available on virtual meeting webpage.
